CoStar SHARE Center Pre-Conference Workshop
Tuesday, 18 July from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the NAU Building at Scottsdale Community College
This location is a short 20-minute drive from the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, the conference hotel.
There are many exciting developments with the SHARE Center. During the workshop, we’ll provide a thorough update (and introduction if you are new) on the SHARE Center:
- New types of data for academic research and for use in the classroom
- New datasets for student projects, including sample portfolio data
- A thorough overview of the CoStar Suite, the world’s largest online source of hotel and real estate data
- Explanation of how you and your students can obtain free subscriptions to the CoStar Suite
- Comprehensive introduction to the CHIA, celebrating its 10-year anniversary with 40,000 recipients
- Comprehensive intro to the Certification in Advanced Hospitality and Tourism Analytics (CAHTA)
- A review of upcoming revisions for the CHIA and the CAHTA
- An introduction to the new Revenue Management book and certification in partnership with RevME
- An introduction to the CoStar Real Estate Analytics certification, and a description of its utilization in hotel schools

SHARE Update Emphasizing Data for Research and the Classroom
Wednesday, 19 July at 1:30 PM at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Wildflower A/B
This session will review major new developments in the SHARE Center program with an emphasis on data. There will be an exciting demo of the CoStar Suite product, the world’s largest online source of hotel data. Participants will learn how to obtain a free subscription for yourself and your students. There will be an introduction to new types of hotel data for academic research and for use in the classroom, including special datasets developed for student projects. Hotel and tourism researchers will share their experiences using STR data. There will also be an overview of student certifications and training resources, including the new Revenue Management student certification and CHIA/CAHTA updates.

Friday, 21 July at 2:00 PM at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Desert Suite VI
This session will review major new developments in the SHARE Center program with an emphasis on education. There will be a thorough introduction to the new Revenue Management student certification and the Real Estate Analytics certification (utilized by hotel schools). There will be a review of the CHIA (Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics) and CAHTA (Certification in Advanced Hotel & Tourism Analytics) training, with a discussion on upcoming updates. An update will be presented on the new “Analyzing and Visualizing Hotel Data with Tableau/BI” training. Educators who are using STR materials will share their experiences. Participants will also receive an overview of data resources, including the CoStar Suite product (online hotel data) and hotel data for academic research.
