Tracy Michaud, President of NENA

Greetings NENA Colleagues,

I am excited and honored to be your NENA President. I am an Associate Professor of Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Southern Maine and focus my scholarship on sustainable tourism development. I have enjoyed many years of ICHRIE NENA membership and have benefited from the conferences and networking. I am fortunate to have an amazing and dedicated group of NENA Executive Committee members to work with this year. Together we look forward to serving you, our members, by continuing to provide valuable networking, educational, and research opportunities.

We hope to welcome more colleagues from Canada as our NENA conference in April will take place in Portland, Maine (hosted by the University of Southern Maine) and this summer we will be in lovely (and cooler than Phoenix!) Montreal for the ICHRIE conference.  We will continue to bring you the Rise and Grind Series and hope to see you all online with your coffee in hand.

Please reach out with your ideas for helping our federation better serve your needs. Have a great year!

Sincerely,

Tracy Michaud

Dear Colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well. As Past President, one of my responsibilities is to chair the NENA nominations/awards committee and coordinate the election for open leadership positions on the NENA Board. This year the following positions are open:

Vice President

Treasurer

Director of Conference and Events

Director of Education

I would like to thank the amazing and supportive Nominations Committee: Abena Aidoo Hewton, George Mason University; Donna Albano, Stockton University; Ya-Ling Chen, SUNY Brockport University, and David Schweiger, Northampton Community College for their dedication and work this year in putting together a slate of very qualified candidates. The NENA Board officially approved the slate (per the bylaws) at their February 6, 2024 meeting.

Below is a link to the NENA Website where you can learn about the candidates running for each of these board positions. This viewing period will run for one week and the election will officially open on February 15, 2024, and run for 30 days per the NENA bylaws and close on March 15, 2024. NENA members will be sent a separate email with instructions on voting right before the election opens. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Jeff
