This Spring, college and university members of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) International Honor Society, Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), traveled to Chicago, Illinois, USA, for a Professional Development and Networking Event. This event was held in conjunction with the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show.

On Sunday, 19 May 2024, students heard from Hyatt International, Hospitality Internships, and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation during a professional development and a networking breakfast sponsored at DePaul University.

On Monday, 20 May 2024, students had the opportunity to tour the West Hall of McCormick Place, their rooftop garden, and enjoyed a chef demonstration of homemade ice cream withOVG360.

There was student and faculty representation from 12 different universities including: Stockton University, Widener University, DePaul University, North Carolina Central University, University of South Florida, University of Memphis, New Mexico State University, East Stroudsburg University, Florida International University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Auburn University, and Southern Illinois University – Carbondale.
