Objectives:
For many years, ICHRIE and its CHRIE FutureFund™ had supported Best Paper winners from the Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality & Tourism by awarding complimentary registration to the ICHRIE Annual Conference to each student winner. During Future Fund Committee meetings held in fall 2022, co-chairs Misty Johansen and Carl Winston encouraged committee members to think bigger in terms of Future Fund impact. At its December meeting, committee members voted unanimously to approve awarding each student Best Paper winner from the Graduate Conference with a $1,000 award voucher. The award voucher provided complimentary registration for the 2023 ICHRIE Annual Summer Conference in Phoenix, as well as allowing the respective winner to choose among a complimentary one-year ICHRIE membership, reimbursement of lodging in the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa during conference, or reimbursement of airfare to/from Phoenix, with total award maximum of $1,000.
We are excited to announce over 30 Eta Sigma Delta Honor Societies held induction ceremonies during the 2022 Fall semester. Together, the following schools inducted just short of 500 new honor society students!
The 2022 CentralCHRIE Conference was hosted in conjunction with the Purdue University White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s inaugural annual Spirit of Hospitality Summit on September 29th and 30th. It was well attended with a number of industry professionals, faculty, and staff traveling from outside of the Purdue community as well as faculty and students (both graduate and undergraduate level) from Purdue University. CentralCHRIE was represented by seven states and ten universities with approximately 34 member attendees. The Hospitality Summit featured over 30 educational sessions along with four keynote sessions, a networking event, a poster session sponsored by CentralCHRIE, and reception for CentralCHRIE members, all of which provided federation members with opportunities to engage with various programs.
The focus of this special issue is to seek scholarly submissions examining experience-related topics from various perspectives including (but not limited to) marketing, consumer behavior, accounting and finance, strategy, human resources, technology, supply chain, food and beverage, and planning and design for the hospitality and tourism industry.

In the Summer 2022 issue of the Pamplin Pulse, the Virginia Tech’s TLOS, Thinkabit, and the MSBA-HTM program were featured for their contributions at the ICHRIE Conference’s Education and Innovation Center (EIC) at the 2022 Annual International CHRIE Summer Conference.
