The Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership has an opening for an Assistant Professor with expertise and background in either restaurant management or hotel management. The University of Houston is a major, public, comprehensive research university situated in the fourth largest city in the United States. The College is one of the world's leading hospitality and tourism programs. It is in a world-class facility with extensive laboratory facilities, a library, a convention space, and an internationally branded hotel. This tenure track position requires an earned doctorate in hospitality or a related field.
Qualifications
- This position requires an earned doctorate in hospitality or a related field.
- Must have a focused research area and have demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier journals.
- Two years of hospitality and/or tourism teaching experience at the community college and/or university level preferred.
- Management experience in the restaurant or hotel industry required, including employee recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Teach restaurant and/or beverage operation/management-related courses at the undergraduate level and graduate level
- Publish within the top-tier hospitality and tourism journals
- Serve on College committees as assigned
- Attend College and University meetings and events
- Fulfill other duties, as assigned by the administration
