Position Information: Position Details: Summary of Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership for the School of Hospitality Business Management (SHBM) in fulfilling its research, instructional, and service missions, including program and curriculum development; faculty recruitment, development, and retention; managing SHBM staff on the WSU Pullman campus; student recruitment and retention; and engagement with external stakeholders. Specifically, the Director will be expected to work collaboratively with academic and industry partners, both domestically and globally, to not only market and promote the school and its programs to prospective students, alumni, donors, employers, and the media, but also to continue to grow and improve the quality and relevance of the program within the industry. The Director will be expected to build and expand relevant industry and research relationships that create opportunities for students and foster a culture of excellence and innovation. The successful candidate will be required to teach two HBM courses per year (typically one per semester), make rank-appropriate service contributions to the school, college, university, and community, and, depending on qualifications, may be expected to conduct high-quality academic research and/or teach up to four additional courses per year. The focus and interest areas of research should align with school and industry needs to further build the relationship with the industry.
