2024 CentralCHRIE Conference

The 2024 CentralCHRIE Conference, held online on November 8th, brought together a dynamic community of scholars, educators, industry leaders, and students to explore the theme, “Innovating Hospitality and Tourism: Embracing Technology and Sustainability.” With 64 participants representing 24 institutions, this year’s conference provided an engaging platform for collaborations and innovations. Attendees participated in 30 research presentations and one keynote address.

This Spring, college and university members of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) International Honor Society, Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), traveled to Chicago, Illinois, USA, for a Professional Development and Networking Event. This event was held in conjunction with the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show.

On behalf of the CentralCHRIE Board of Directors, and the 2023 conference planning team, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every individual for making the CentralCHRIE conference, in conjunction with the Spirit of Hospitality Summit at Purdue University, a success. The 2023 CentralCHRIE conference was held at Purdue University October 19-20.

The 2022 CentralCHRIE Conference was hosted in conjunction with the Purdue University White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s inaugural annual Spirit of Hospitality Summit on September 29^th and 30^th. It was well attended with a number of industry professionals, faculty, and staff traveling from outside of the Purdue community as well as faculty and students (both graduate and undergraduate level) from Purdue University. CentralCHRIE was represented by seven states and ten universities with approximately 34 member attendees. The Hospitality Summit featured over 30 educational sessions along with four keynote sessions, a networking event, a poster session sponsored by CentralCHRIE, and reception for CentralCHRIE members, all of which provided federation members with opportunities to engage with various programs.
